How do I graduate Air Force BMT with at least a rank insignia on my shoulder rather than nothing at all?
Ive seen in pictures and photos that when some people graduate Air Force BMT they graduate with no rank or insignia on their shoulder. I am enlisted with a 6 year contract, Air Traffic Control. How could I graduate with at least one stripe as an Airman on my shoulder in BMT? Any help and advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
You do get the stripe as an Airman. Then you have to carry your uniforms (blue and BDUs) over to the dry cleaner and get them all sewn on. You do not get the stripe until AFTER graduation, not before. If you want to get your pics redone after you get the stripe(s), you can do that. But most of the Airman will have no stripes in their pic from Basic.
Good luck at Lackland. Try to get the position of Guide-On Bearer. It’s the best spot of all for training throughout basic and definitely for graduation day. Your family will be able to easily spot you in the run and in the parade. It’s awesome!
