How can I help my brother to divorce his Filipina wife?

His wife is cruel to him, plays mahjong with her Filipina friends all night, and takes all of his money. My American African brother, who is 63, is scared of her. Before he met her he was happy, successful, and had many friends. Now his wife won’t let anyone call him, visit him, or invite him anywhere. I’m at my wits end because now my brother is seriously ill and I don’t know how to help him. My brother has sponsored her family members for US citizenship, adopted and raised her kids, and given her everything that she has ever wanted, and yet she only screams at him (never talks), doesn’t cook, clean, or go anywhere with him, or give him any affection. His wife says she will never let him divorce her.

Look your Brother either likes being treated this way, or he didn’t know how to stop it once it started. If he wants it to change, HE needs to change it, not you. If he has been treated this way so long and wants it to stop, he needs to just tell her she has been a brat long enough. Today it ends…no more yelling, mahjong ends at 10pm, and the money train goes through him now. If she does it again, he takes her over his knee and gives her a good spanking for being a brat. Repeat each time she behaves that way.
Your brother needs to take charge IF HE WANTS TO. If he doesn’t want to, stay out of his business. It’s his life and wife.
