I need help choosing a comforter-needs to be cheap but last-is poly/cotton ok?

I am on a tight budget and looking for bedding for my queen bed. The last set we bought was a bed-in-bag and poly/cotton blend and it died very quickly (bought at Sears). I’m willing to go with just a comforter and shams to save $ but I’m afraid if I go polyster again it will wear out. Should I go with cotton and spend more in order to get more wear out of it? Does anyone know of a place I can get a set for appx. $50 or less?
