Can I use a ps3 eye toy camera on a ps3 console, but being using a ps2 eye toy game?

I recently over heard my parents speaking that they will get me a ps3 for my birthday, along with a ps3 eye toy camera and that cool eye of judgment game. I was researching and most of the eye toy games are for ps2. If i am using a ps3 eye toy camera will it read the ps2 eye toy game and show myself on the tv?

I don’t think it will work for PS2 eyetoy games. I tried to play Karaoke revolution for PS2 on my PS3 and the camera wouldn’t work at all. I think the camera is just too advanced for those old games
